Arunachal Pradesh Government Hub

The Arunachal Pradesh Government Hub supports residents of Arunachal Pradesh and their democracy by bringing together information, experts, organizations, policy makers, and the public to facilitate greater engagement in federal, state, and local politics and more civil, positive discussions and collaborations on important issues and governance.

Arunachal Pradesh Government Hub is one of many state government hubs being launched next year by the nonpartisan, nonprofit onAir Networks.  Other state hubs will be discoverable in the future at the national India Government Hub.

Arunachal Pradesh is a state in Northeastern India. It was formed from the erstwhile North-East Frontier Agency (NEFA) region, and became a state on 20 February 1987. Itanagar is the state capital and its largest town.

Arunachal University of Studies

Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) is a private university located at Namsai.The Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) has been established by Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh through an Act of State Legislature as the State University under the sponsorship and management of World Education Mission (WEM). The university is duly recognized by UGC u/s 2(f) and is empowered to award degrees specified u/s 22 of UGC Act 1956. AUS is the member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.

Pema Khandu

Pema Khandu is an Indian politician and the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. He is son of former Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Dorjee Khandu. Since assuming office of chief minister in July 2016, he and his government have twice changed their party affiliation; in September from the Indian National Congress to the Peoples Party of Arunachal, and then in December 2016 to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Previously he had served as Minister of Tourism, Urban Development and Water Resources in Nabam Tuki’s government.

Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly

The Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly is the unicameral state legislature of Arunachal Pradesh state in north-eastern India. The seat of the Legislative Assembly is at Itanagar, the capital of the state. The Legislative Assembly comprises 60 Members of Legislative Assembly directly elected from single-seat constituencies.

About Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh is the largest of the Seven Sister States of Northeast India by area. It borders the states of Assam and Nagaland to the south. It shares international borders with Bhutan in the west, Myanmar in the east, and a disputed 1,129 km border with China’s Tibet Autonomous Region in the north at the McMahon Line.

As of the 2011 Census of India, Arunachal Pradesh has a population of 1,382,611 and an area of 83,743 square kilometres (32,333 sq mi). It is an ethnically diverse state, with predominantly Monpa people in the west, Tani people in the centre, Mishmi and Tai people in the east, and Naga people in the southeast of the state. About 26 major tribes and 100 sub-tribes live in the state, including Adi, Nyshi, Singpho, Galo, Tagin and Apatani. The Mishmi tribe has three sub-tribes, namely Idu-Mishmi, Digaru-Mishmi and Miju-Mishmi.

It is claimed by China as part of Tibet. China occupied some regions of Arunachal Pradesh in 1962 but later withdrew its forces.
